2009 DVDs Now Available!
Well it's been a very long time since the last update! I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas!

The 2009 DVDs are now available! It has taken literally months to compile them - from putting all of the footage (approx 150 hours) onto hard drives, selecting music, editing, screening then designing and compiling the DVDs themselves! LOTS of time and effort has gone into them - myself, Nelly and Phill were all involved in getting the main edits to where we wanted them!

The DVDs feature 4 discs this year! Part 1 & 2 of the main edit, an Extras DVD which includes footage that was deemed too risky to be included in the main edit (which was screened in front of friends and family) and a soundtrack CD. The cost is £10, all funds will go towards covering the costs of the DVD materials as well as the time and effort that went into making them :-)

If you're interesting in getting a copy, please get in touch with me - jonny@jonnyjones.co.uk - and I can sort out getting a copy to you!

Many thanks everybody! I hope you have a fantastic New Year! Crapheap Challenge 2010?... How does 14 days to Bratislava and back sound? More info to follow :-)

We're back!
Taken a week or so to post this, but everybody has been recovering as well as suffering having to return to work a day after getting home!

Absolutely epic trip! Stay tuned for the video episodes that are due to be edited in the coming weeks!

If you haven't already done so, please donate to our Taking Steps for Georgia charity fund!

All the best for now,

Yet another 'happening'...
Phill has managed to buckle the front of his car in an unfortunate accident today - both parties are fit and well. All is not lost though! The general plan is to bend the front of the car (mostly the radiator surrounding) back into shape, do the same with the bonnet, replace the buckled radiator (that is only a few months old lol) and then replace the headlights... somehow! Phill has about a day to do all of that! He's in the hands of Roy @ Auto Barn so fingers crossed it'll all be sorted for when we leave this coming Friday!!

Matt's Audi is no more!
Well, the gearbox on Matt's Audi 100 has blown up! He has, therefore, had to buy another car! He now has a Ford Mondeo, purchased for £200, in the same shade of red as the Audi! Alison, our vinyl sponsor, is currently working very hard to get an entire car's worth of Vinyl ready for next week's send-off party, as a bare-painted car really wouldn't be the same! None of us saw this coming and so we really must thank Alison heavily for all her superb efforts with us this year! Let's hope the Mondeo and indeed none of the other cars decided to throw a wobbly! :-)

Party in the Paddock - its taking shape!
Just been down to the Party in the Paddock event site and its taking shape nicely! As you can see from the photo below there's a massive marquee and a smaller one as well as a funky, metal-caged stage being erected! The space in which all this is going to be happening is pretty big and the surroundings are beautiful!

We look forward to seeing you all there, here's the Facebook events page link - Click here!

Here is a Google map showing you where it is!

Farnham Carnival Video & Party in the Paddock!
There's a new video on the videos page! The coverage of the Farnham Carnival from the 27th June. All the cars attended and we had a blast! Watch as we crash into each other and make the standers-by laugh out loud! Nelly cuts his nose on his sunglasses (did they pass quality control?) and I get trigger happy with my stupid siren!!

On a serious note, we managed to raise a lot of awareness (as well as eyebrows) and some money towards Taking Steps!

Our next event is this coming weekend - Party in the Paddock, 12th July. If you're not busy, pop down! All the details are on the Events Calender page! Just down the road from The Jolly Farmer pub, Blacknest, Nr. Farnham, Surrey. We hope to see you all there!

Farnham Carnival
The Crapheap team, with newest recruits Steph and Simon (Wombat and Burf) took part in the Farnham carnival yesterday.

Very successful day, we were involved in the procession which lasted around an hour, and toured round the bustling streets of the town, in the beautiful sunshine and heat. Nelly, Phill, Jonny and Matt drove in the procession while the Cavalier was parked next to the music stage in Castle Street.

Everyone received the cars amazingly, loads of interest from all the thousands of bystanders, including some online response in the aftermath, as well as first prize in our class in the judging of the parade! The best publicity we could have ever have imagined, owe lots to Mark head for pulling some strings for us!

Everyone should come along to Party in the Paddock at Nyewood on July 12th to help rasie more money for Georgia, as well as some great entertainment, music and comedy, and Crapheap Challenge presence! Also, come along for the chance to bid to buy Nelly's car, and a drift day with Phill at a proffessional track where you can learn to drift yourself!

Many thanks again, The Crapheap Team

Farnham Carnival, today, be there! :-D
Just a quick note to say that all the cars participating in The Crapheap Challenge 2009 will be driving in the Farnham Carnival procession today with the intention of raising even more awareness of the trip as well as our fantastic cause this year - Taking Steps for Georgia! Georgia herself will be there with Mum Toni and Dad Mark! They'll be walking along side the cars! The procession begins at 6pm and ends at roughly 7pm.

So come on down and support us as well as the rest of the Carnival, of course!

See you there!

Georgia Head Video Live!
There is now a long, in-depth video of Georgia Head with her parents Mark and Toni on the 'Taking Steps & Donate' page!

It gives you all a chance to 'meet' and see the brilliant girl we're raising money for this year! Georgia really is a star in this video, full of life and comedy moments!

Learn about the process they have been through in last couple of years and the reality of how much the treatment really costs! Georgia has done astonishingly well so far but her treatment must continue until she stops growing!

You can donate on the same page the video is on via PayPal, please give as much as you can afford, every little really does help!

Many thanks,
Phill, Nelly & Jonny.

Taking Steps for Georgia - Donations now live!!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to set up a 'JustGiving' page for donations this year! HOWEVER, we are delighted to announce that we have set up a secure PayPal donations page, with all donations going directly to Georgia and her family!

Anybody can donate using their Debit/Credit card or the PayPal account you may already have set up - PayPal will prompt new users to open an account, this takes a few seconds!

So PLEASE donate as much as you can afford in the current financial climate, as it will make a difference to Georgia's life!

To do so, please head over to the 'Taking Steps & Donate' page now!

If you wish to make a personal donation 'offline', then do not hesitate to get in touch using the email address and/or phone numbers listed on the 'Contact' page!

If you happen to be at any of the events that we will be attending in the coming weeks, this is another opportunity to donate as well! It will also give you a chance to chat to us face-to-face about the trip and indeed this fantastic cause!

Many thanks!

New server & first show of the year!
As of... yesterday actually... The Crapheap Challenge 2009's website is now coming to you from a brand new, more reliable, faster server! So hopefully all the pages should be loading WAY quicker than ever before with pretty much no down-time at all!

Our very first show of the year is this coming bank holiday Monday (25th) - The Rowledge Fete! As its our first show we'll be testing the water with out 'Guess The Mileage' competition as well as just seeing how much interest we can spark with some of the cars attending this year being on display! We should also have the footage from the 2008 trip on DVD loop at the fete, so people can get a real insight into what the trip is about!

We're also planning on having a live Webcam streaming video onto the front of this website, so keep your eyes peeled on the day for your chance to see what we're getting up to - in real time!

Cheers,
Jonny x
